I can only try and imagine how it must have been back then after the crucifiction. Those that were there with Jesus when He was crucified would be in deep mourning and shock. This would have intensified when they discovered that His tomb was empty, added by confusion and fear.
Then to see Him resurrected and to discover that He is indeed alive!!!
Some saw His resurrection with their own eyes. Others were told about it. Some believed, some didn't.
And so it has been from that day to this. Some choose to believe in Jesus, some don't.
The bible reference to the message of Easter can be found in Luke 24. You can watch a video version of Luke 24 here.
For those of us who DO believe in Him and choose to follow Him, He gives us this command, commingly known as the "Great Commission". You can read it in Matthew 28:16-20 or at the end of this video version.
His message to us is
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 19-20
So today, I join millions of believers all over the world in celebrating what Jesus did for each and every one of us. I pray that as a follower of Him, He will always help me reach out to others with the love of Jesus. And I am thankful that He really is always with me.
He is with you too! Be blessed today. He is alive!!
