These are some of the questions I get asked frequently. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. 

Q. What sort of pets will you care for?

A. Aussie Pet Nanny will care for most pets. Exceptions include larger dogs that require walking and pull hard on the lead and any animal that may be deemed dangerous. Aussie Pet Nanny has the right to refuse a pet sitting job and a Greet and Meet is always preferred before a pet sit is confirmed. This is for the benefit of both the Owner and Pet Sitter & of course your pet!

Q. Are you a professional dog walker?

A. No! Professional dog walkers are fast! I will walk your pet at a steady leisurely pace and pick up after them if they toilet while on a walk.

Q. Will you let my pet off its lead to play?

A. No! If walking outside your premises your pet will remain on the lead at all times. Playtime with a ball or other toys will be reserved for the yard or inside area - according to your instructions.

Q. Do you offer grooming services?

A. Aussie Pet Nanny is not a professional groomer. However I am more than happy to bath and brush your pets according to your instructions. (and of course lots of pats and scratches!)

Q. Do you offer veterinary services?

A. Aussie Pet Nanny is not a professional vet so cannot offer these services. Aussie Pet Nanny will care for your pets in a similar fashion as you do - with care, love and attention to detail.

Q. Why do you prefer to care for pets in their own homes?

A. Aussie Pet Nanny believes that pets are happier and less anxious if cared for in their own homes. I do not offer a service where I care for pets in my own home.

Q. Will you send me updates while I am away?

Yes! I offer a daily message service where I will let you know how your pets are doing, along with photos. There is no extra charge for this service. You are also welcome to phone or message me anytime to enquire about your pets.

Q. Do you supply pet food and other supplies?

A. Aussie Pet Nanny provides a service only. All food, bedding, medications, pooper bags, leads, toys etc are to be provided from the owner.

Q. Do you give medications?

A. Yes! Aussie Pet Nanny can administer medications according to your or your vets instructions.

Q. What happens if my pet gets sick?

A. Aussie Pet Nanny will contact you immediately and/or will transport your pet to your nominated vet. A suitable harnass or pet carrier will need to be provided by the owner in case it is needed to transport your pet. Vet details must be supplied and payment arrangements (eg an account or arrangement at your vet surgery or cash/card left in case of emergency). Aussie Pet Nanny will not be liable to pay towards these expenses.

Q. What happens if my pet runs away?

A. Aussie Pet Nanny will contact you immediately and also do a search in the area. Please also note requirements to have your pets registration and micro chip information up to date before care takes place as this may save the life of your pet if he/she should go missing.

Q. What if the worst happens and my pet passes away from illness or accident?

A. Aussie Pet Nanny will do her very best to ensure that your pet is safe and cared for while in her care, just as when in your care. However if something unforseeable should happen Aussie Pet Nanny will not be held responsible for something out of her control. Aussie Pet Nanny will immediately contact the owner and/or nominated vet if such an event did occur. Arrangements for the deceased pet will be the responsility of the owner to organise - eg organising someone to pick up the deceased pet for cremation. Aussie Pet Nanny will assist as much as possible in this process.

Q. Do you provide other services at the house while pet sitting?

A. Yes!

• Mail Collection and Bins Out / In

• Outside areas - Pet poos picked up - General tidy - Plants watered

• Dog messes cleaned up as required. Fresh drinking water supplied daily.

* These additional services apply if the pet sit is a Home Stay

• General Living Areas and wherever I sleep - Rooms left clean and tidy

• Kitchen & Bathroom - Left clean and sanitised

Some other points that apply to Home Stays only:-

• I ask for all rooms not needing to be used to have their doors closed/locked. That is the way they will stay while I am there.

• I do not offer mowing or cleaning services sorry!

• I BYO Vehicle, Bedding & Linen, Toiletries, Toilet Paper, Food & Drinks, Phone, Internet Device, etc.

• I would ask to use your vacuum, broom / mop and cleaning products.

• I would rather not sleep in a main bedroom, a single bed is fine!

• I am clean and tidy  but not super fussy so please do not stress!

• I do not drink or smoke and can provide excellent references.

• If I need to go out it will not be for long periods (shopping, visits, appointments) and I will sleep at the home each night I am booked to stay with your pet.​
