What's the meaning of life?

I have been looking up some of my previous writings and found this from 2013. It tugged at me again tonight so wanted to share it in this space....

Sometime ago, I watched the whole series of The Alpha Course online. Though Alpha is designed to introduce Christianity to non-Christians, I found it refreshing and relevant to me, even though I have been a Christian for many years.

For most of us, life in this world has a way of enveloping us in its busyness; sometimes to the point where we neglect to ponder what the real meaning of our life is. This was certainly the case for me.

I felt I was drowning in a world that wanted to keep me busy and distracted, and I was starting to feel a deep sense of dissatisfaction with my life.

Watching The Alpha Course reminded me of how I really wanted to live my life, and about my true purpose for being here. The results have been refreshing and have redirected me back to living with purpose again, instead of merely existing. I’ve been reminded of what I am here for; what I live for; and where I truly feel most alive.

As a Christian believer, I look forward to the day when Jesus returns. My greatest reward will be hearing him say to me “Well done, good and faithful servant”. My purpose in life is to share my faith and the good news of Jesus Christ with as many others as I can; so that they too can experience true purpose here on earth, and eternal life in heaven.

As I write, I can’t help but wonder who may be reading this in the future. Whether you’re a non-believer or someone who has believed for many years.

I hope this will help you if you too feel like you’re drowning in your Christian walk. Maybe life’s demands have led you to feeling dry and tired? Maybe you are wondering what the real purpose in life is? I hope you will be encouraged to take a fresh look at life and what the real meaning of it all is.

And I pray that as you do, the answer will come to you loud and clear.
