I wrote this poem as a reminder to myself of why it is important to stay in Gods word daily. I was finding the busyness of life had me to the point where some days I barely managed to read a few verses of a devotional.
Of course that's just what the ol enemy would like, for me to drop my guard and let other things take my focus. He knows that as that happens, my spiritual defenses start to weaken and I become empty on the inside.
He knows that reading Gods word fills me up with the 'good stuff' and that I take that good stuff with me whereever I go, and that somehow it passes onto others throughout my day.
Who know how much one word from someone can affect us in both negative and postive ways?
Well I want my life to be one that affects others in postive ways always.
I want others to be encouraged, lifted up, comforted, blessed and smiling!
I know how quickly I can be dragged into negative thinking and even depression if I do not keep close to my Creator.
So as I remind and encourage myself, I hope this poem also encourages others....
Don't neglect the important stuff, keep close to God and let Him fill and bless you daily.
There was a song that I wrote many years ago that I am just now reminded of that is appropriate to this message. The chorus goes
"Fill me with your Holy Spirit, that I may pour out to everyone I meet".
May He fill us today!
